Silicon Nitride Bonded SiC

NSiC is a unique group of high-performance nitride bonded silicon carbide ceramics with exceptional resistance to abrasion, erosion, high temperature, thermal shock, and severe chemical environments.

The composition of the green body includes silicon powder and the Si3N4 bond is formed in-situ by firing the body at high temperature in a nitrogen atmosphere.
The material can be used to create very complex parts, replacing metal components in applications where the parts are subject to high abrasion and sliding wear.
